Vintage Tang Dynasty Style Prancing Horse — Large

A large and commanding Tang Dynasty-style ceramic war horse in the classic caparisoned pose — front leg raised, head slightly lowered, fully outfitted in ceremonial tack. The body is finished in a white crackle glaze, an intentional technique that gives the piece its aged, weathered character. The saddle, bridle, and harness are rendered in vivid turquoise with dark brown leather detailing, pinecone finials at the saddle, and a saddle blanket bordered in a dense Greek key pattern. Mid-20th century export production, mounted on an integral black rectangular base.
